Drafter
Responsibilities:
- Use SolidWorks effectively to generate solid models and manufacturing drawings for various components
- Generate drawings for castings and forgings
- Generate assembly drawings of cylinders, valves and accumulators
- Generate hydraulic and pneumatic cylinder approval drawings for submittal to the customer
- Create bills of material and enter the item part numbers in the ERP software and create the BOM in the system
- Process cylinder order designs with minor modifications to the standard product line
- Carry out drawing revisions as necessary and issue change notices to various departments
- Assist with proper maintenance of part number registers and other engineering departmental records
- Assist engineers with evaluation of returned cylinders and assist with reverse engineering samples provided by the customer
- Assist with creating operation and service manuals for cylinders, valves and accumulators
- Must ensure accuracy in all engineering documents created before release and must demonstrate good quality of work in terms of preparation, presentation and overall thoroughness
- Attention to detail to ensure that all drawings contain applicable specifications and engineering requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in drafting and/or design engineering
- Excellent written and oral communication skills to effectively communicate with employees and management
- Knowledge of various features encountered in mechanical engineering field such as threads, welding, etc. and machining operations such as turning, milling, etc.
- Must be proficient in using CAD programs such as SolidWorks or AutoCad
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
